How to Get the Most Out of Sunsets

Who doesn't love a stunning sunset? The vibrant colors, the peaceful atmosphere, the perfect backdrop for a romantic date, a solo contemplation session, or to watch your sweet dog their zoomies out. But are you really getting the most out of these daily natural wonders? This blog post is here to help you squeeze every last drop of beauty and joy out of those glorious sunsets!

Timing is Everything

First things first, you gotta know when to catch that sunset magic. Sunsets are like celebrities - they have a schedule to keep! Make sure you check the time of sunset in your area and plan accordingly. Give yourself time for parking, walking, etc.  Missing a good sunset is like missing out on free dessert - a tragedy. Hence the term “golden hour,” the first hour of light after the sun rises, & the last hour of light before the sun sets. —> the most beautiful times of the day.

Location, Location, Location

Now that you know when the show is happening, it's time to pick the perfect spot to watch it. Sure, you could just step out onto your balcony and call it a day, but why not get creative? Head to a nearby hill, your favorite beach, or even your neighbor's rooftop (just kidding, don't do that). The key is to find a spot with an unobstructed view of the horizon.

Dress the Part

Put on your favorite outfit (comfy or cute), grab a cozy blanket, maybe even bring a thermos of hot cocoa, coffee, or tea. The sunset deserves your best, after all.

Bring a Buddy

Sunsets are best enjoyed with good company. Grab a friend, a loved one, and most definitely your puppy, and share the moment together. Bonus points if you bring a camera to capture the magic - Instagram is waiting for your #sunsetpics :)

Stay Present

Finally, when the moment arrives and the sky starts to paint itself in shades of pink, orange, and purple, remember to stay present. Put away your phone (after taking that perfect Instagram shot, of course) and just soak it all in. Sunsets are nature's way of reminding us to slow down and appreciate the beauty around us.
